I agree. We don’t have the problem of "living in the neighborhood." It is a community of heirs who even want to sell the property. Currently, it is leased and the tenants are really nice. However, they have apparently already received a call saying that the gate must not be changed. Are the tenants allowed to alter the property?
Have you ever contacted the community of heirs? If not, I would suggest trying that. The tenant is not simply allowed to change anything, only within normal limits. He is not allowed to remove the gate or fixed element (even temporarily) and cannot grant you permission to do so either.
So I would recommend contacting the community of heirs!
