The wall that "separates" the living room and dining room is to become a media wall. The couch will be oriented towards it. We quite like this visually suggested separation of the rooms. We were told that if the fireplace were to be placed there, the chimney would have to be insanely high (above the gable). That is why the fireplace is placed there (see photo attached). I also think that’s quite a good solution. (The wall will be adjusted accordingly)

So the couch will then be on the opposite outer wall? Directly under the window?
Take a look at your current living room to see how far the distance is between couch and TV, at what angle you sit in front of the TV (directly in front or slightly to the side?), and whether that suits you / is possible in the planned living room. :)
By the way, I’ll save ideas on how to do it better – I don’t think the floor plan is bad in many respects, but I often wonder if people are aware of what they’re actually being drawn there. ;-)
