Hello,

I have a question.
In my bathroom, tiles are laid only halfway up (120cm) on both the left and right sides of the door.
This creates a gap (about 1cm) between the wall, tile, and door frame above the 120cm mark.
What are the best or most aesthetically pleasing options to solve this gap?
I would be very grateful for any help!

I guess acrylic? Although 1cm is really quite a lot. Maybe you can fill it with putty and then paint over it again?

Hello Tolentino, I also initially thought of acrylic. But as you already mentioned, 1cm is really a lot. I find filling and painting better. Thank you

Use acrylic. It won’t be noticeable later. If necessary, paint over with wall paint later.

Normally, you use a finishing strip there, e.g. made of stainless steel. Acrylic is not good, it gets dirty very quickly and cannot be kept clean.

1. There are foam sausages that are also used for larger gaps that are sealed with silicone. They should also be suitable for acrylic. They are called "Fugenfüllprofil / Rundschnur PE 10mm"

2. Or notch (mill) the frame at the point where tiles are installed.

As a third option, have the tiles stop a few centimeters before the start of the frame.

And option 4 as the very last possibility (ugly ...): make the tiles in the area of the frame as high as the door.
