Hello forum,

after diligently reading along here in the forum, I am releasing our draft for firing.;)
It is to be a solid (PB) single-family house without a basement for us and our 2 kids (5 and 1.5).
The roof pitch is 40 degrees, the knee wall height is 1.3m.
The north-south axis runs almost diagonally from top right to bottom left.
That means the arrangement and size of the rooms is "initially" desired by us in this way.
The garage should find its place on the right gable side, i.e. on the outer wall at the guest WC.
The size, number, and location of the windows, overall the views, will still be revised.
Unfortunately, I currently do not have the possibility to attach a site plan.
I think to judge the floor plan, it is not necessarily required.
What causes headaches:
1. Hall on the ground floor too big?
2. Kitchen too small? (Furnishing is only suggested, not final)
3. Somehow it’s difficult upstairs to "magic" two, preferably three roughly equally sized rooms
4. Flight upstairs too big?

I hope you can make something of the info.
Thank you very much

Is the staircase sufficient? I only see 14 steps.... Does the entrance door possibly collide with the staircase? A straight staircase takes up a lot of hallway space - okay on the ground floor, but on the upper floor? Personally, I like large living hallways upstairs, but that consumes square meters that could instead be invested in a storage room upstairs. Do you like the kitchen without a counter or island? Try placing your planned furniture in it. Does your recess in the facade have a purpose? Appearance? Views? The roof won’t serve as a terrace roof, being so high up ;) The children's rooms vary greatly in size :( The site plan is actually the origin and basis of a floor plan... why can’t you copy it and upload it??

Whether the staircase fits, I think so, or not? Yes, as far as the hallways are concerned, we are not very happy with them either. My wife doesn't like kitchen islands, I don't really either. But the last word hasn't been said on that yet. The recess or rather the projection was created to get a bit more space in the "sofa corner". In the old drafts, this area was smaller. As for the differently sized children's rooms, we are also not very happy. Attached is a traced site plan

Where is the carport planned? And where is the main terrace? As a layman, I would probably create a completely different plan for the location. An architect certainly would. Because if there isn’t enough space, just tacking on an (expensive) corner without any relation to the outdoor area isn’t exactly sensible either... 14 steps would simply be too steep for a normal ceiling height for me. If no kitchen island is planned, the kitchen seems completely mislocated to me in the open dining/living area. If I were you, I would consult an architect!
