Don't laugh but we are planning to get my wife a position at the [Amt]... the kids maybe too...

BTT: I think a downward adjustment of the volume certainly won't hurt

 Your salary increases with each child... it seems others here have overlooked that ;) But estimation and consideration are always good - especially after a forum discussion ;)

I have to ask again. I had assumed until now that the increase referred to the child benefit. Maybe I'm disqualifying myself here: Is there a "child allowance" per child in the public service?

Yes, there is a child allowance / family supplement for civil servants. It also increases progressively... Like back in the good old BAT days when there was still the local allowance...

Well, I was also stunned... although I myself am in the public service, I still didn’t know that such a thing still exists. "Back then," it was always said: starting from the third child it’s worth it... ;)

But today there is no BAT anymore, I’m already wondering why someone here talks about BAT and civil servant status... does that still exist? I want that too... do I really want that???

Of course, the same applies as back then... from the third child onwards it’s worth it...
with the comparison to the BAT I really just meant that back then there was something equivalent to the family allowance in the BAT pay scale. The BAT hasn’t existed since 2005.
