I would definitely choose one without HDF carrier, as otherwise it will swell due to moisture, etc.

Yes, we have already paid attention to something like that because we also read here about "false vinyl" where simply laminate is covered with vinyl. Which would of course be fatal in the bathroom because of swelling and rotting. Otherwise, vinyl seems to have only advantages for us and everyone I have spoken to is enthusiastic about vinyl. But there must be a catch somewhere, right?

Our adhesive vinyl specifically stated: suitable for wet rooms...

I'm still a bit disappointed with the adhesive vinyl. We installed ours throughout the entire house doing it ourselves.

Pros:
- very quick and easy to install
- can be cut with tin snips... no saw needed, etc.
- looks good and is not cold underfoot
- thin (2mm) and allows heat to pass through well
- no cracking or similar issues
- easy to replace damaged planks

Cons:
- we had calcium sulfate screed and additionally leveled it with leveling compound... still, unevenness is visible in daylight
- wear layer scratches off quickly... already had to replace some spots in the kitchen (chairs, etc.)
- despite installation according to instructions, we have gaps between the individual planks in larger rooms, as if the planks had shrunk 3-4 mm...

Conclusion: Unfortunately rather negative, I would probably have chosen click vinyl now. At my parents’ house there are no gaps or unevenness visible... and their floor is 30 years old. Without leveling, etc...

Moreover, the screed was raised... in the bathroom with tiles it’s 1.5 cm below floor level and in the other rooms only 0.4 cm below floor level... everything fits now, but if I wanted to choose something else later, the floor height would no longer fit... The doors still have a bit of clearance at the bottom... but tiles probably won’t work anymore, for example.

But as a building layman, you only realize this later.

We have chosen 5 mm thick click vinyl, which is also suitable for damp rooms. So we should at least be safe with the unevenness. What worries me a bit is that you have already replaced vinyl because the top layer had scratches. It’s supposed to be that robust, isn’t it, or is it because of the 2 mm thickness? With adhesive vinyl, you also occasionally hear about waves forming when it gets too warm in one spot (hot summer day + window front). Do you or your parents have that too? We will have 6 floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, and it can get quite warm there....
