Hello everyone,

We are currently thinking about the lighting of the countertop, since we only have one wall cabinet, we want to work with the URail rail system from Paulmann.

Maybe some of you have also worked with this system.

If so, I would be happy if you could answer the following questions for me:

- Which spots do you have?
- Is the countertop illuminated brightly enough?

We planned to position the rail 30cm from the front edge of the countertop, is that correct?

Maybe you can also post pictures so I can see how you solved it.

Thank you

Best regards
Birgit

Hi! We have no wall cabinets and basically two rows, open kitchen. We have a [urail] from Paulmann with two rails, one above each countertop. On each rail we have 2 LED panels, type Loop.

We have also had our L-shaped countertop U-Rail from Paulmann with four spotlights with frosted glass shades each for four years. The countertop is really well lit and we also find it visually appealing.

We also use the U-Rail twice and are very satisfied.
Roughly speaking, we use a 3-watt spot for every meter of countertop. Partly "integrated" by Paulmann themselves, partly the cheapest spots equipped with LED bulbs.
In addition, we have surface lights for the wall and pendant lamps for the dining table. This is very easy and inexpensive with the universal adapter from Paulmann.

The same applies to the placement of the rail as to financing: always right on the edge!
So spots exactly over the front edge of the countertop. Further back and you cast shadows, further forward and you can't see anything in the drawers.

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your feedback.

Deliverer has already described his positioning of the rail, how is it with the others?

Because I had previously read that this rail should be placed rather centrally above the worktop.

Best regards
Birgit

We also attached the rail almost at the height of the edge of the countertop (slightly recessed towards the countertop). And because the individual spots can still be swiveled, they can be optimally aligned.
