In fact, the rails are the only components of the system that are manufactured with fairly high quality. (You can especially tell when shortening
The materials are right. Unfortunately, quite the opposite is true for all the possible attachments. Nevertheless, I still use it and also equip new rooms with it, as there is unfortunately no comparable system on the market.

Are there no high-quality attachments?

Probably yes - but for many things you have no choice (power supply, connectors, switching actuators) and have to take the completely overpriced things made of the cheapest plastic. It doesn't help much if one or the other light is of higher quality (but probably still not cost-effective).

But as I said, I have decided on the system several times anyway, because it is very flexible, makes subsequent changes/additions easy, and is visually unobtrusive.

I also think that this Paulmann system is quite decent; we have installed some of it here. Of course, you can also install something from Oligo, Erco, etc., but as always, it is a question of price. You would have to answer that question for yourself beforehand. More, better, more expensive is always possible.

That naturally varies with the requirements and I have also changed things from time to time. But roughly: 600,- kitchen (10 lights) and 400,- € bathroom (8 lights). Additionally, light bulbs, as I only have a few "integrated" lights.
