Until recently, I had no idea that was possible, but since I found out that you can install wooden steps on a concrete staircase, I have become a bit in love with the idea.

It specifically concerns a concrete staircase with 14 steps, quarter-turn.

We definitely cannot do that ourselves.

In which range do you estimate the costs for that?

Unfortunately expensive..... [emoji15]

Solid oiled oak, 45 mm, tread and riser, flush without undercut:

Approx. 5,500 - 6,000 EUR net, so around 7k gross.

Tread only: approx. 2,700.

Stringers and railing on top ...

our requests - net per step plus priming, measurement and installation - we did not like any railing from any stair builder

Tread steps:
Beech €55
Oak €70
Walnut €180 (allegedly must always be requested current on the market)

Riser steps:
Beech white lacquered €30

Here is a small interim report on our EG-OG staircase, unfortunately only as a phone picture for the time being.

    [*]Solid oak steps

    [*]Finger-jointed lamellas

    [*]Pre-glued angled steps

    [*]Naturally oiled surface

    [*]Tread and riser steps

    [*]40 mm thickness

    [*]16 risers

Including integrated bench as a continuation of the 1st + 2nd tread and riser step (which is great!)

The 3-piece glass paneling is currently still missing. Unlike in the picture, the painter has already finely retouched the steps.

The stairs are quite steep and fairly narrow in the tread, but we are managing well with it.

The steps were adjusted using two thick Spax screws each into the concrete, on which the steps rest on the screw heads. Here, steps 3-8 were glued on site "en bloc" as a folded beam step (with lamella connectors under the riser), then further elements followed upwards from the bottom. In between, the staircase was assembled and disassembled about 15 times to check that everything fits. Finally glued and bonded (with the concrete) using Ponal-Statik, everything solid and firm and not hollow-sounding.

In short: elaborate – and unfortunately one of the most expensive ways to beautify a new concrete staircase....

For the work effort on 2 staircases:
1 day measuring and planning
3 days preliminary work, delivery
2 days assembly with 4 men (!) (for 2 staircases)
1/2 day finishing work, oiling, etc.

+ 3 x subsequent painting phases (filling, painting, wall joints).
+ some sill from the tile layer...

When the VSG glass arrives, I will deliver pictures again, glass for OG-DG staircase is coming tomorrow... EG glass will take longer because the exact measurement after assembly is only tomorrow.
