I like it too. An oak covering according to KVA should cost 5,000 net on our half-turned staircase. We decided on a 3cm granite covering. Work effort: 1 day measuring, 1 day making templates, 1 day correcting templates, 14 days delivery time for the steps, 2 days installation. Almost 3,000 euros labor cost and 2,500 euros material. I would never have wanted to do that myself - the largest steps weigh almost 100 kg.

Even though I never want to have a straight staircase again - that looks really great!

Why not? Especially stairs are, for some, the absolute best...?

There are people who, as they get older, have so much respect for the straight staircase that they no longer want to go down it. These are fears that a young person may not be able to understand. If the surface is slippery, like tiles or wood without carpet stoppers, a fall down the stairs is practically inevitable. I have someone like that in my family. Apart from that, I have myself slipped down all 15 steps because I got caught on the wide cuff of my pants (sweatpants). When you are older, you avoid such things with, for example, an intermediate landing or a turn that can catch you – even if it's just the view downwards.

Apart from that, I also find Otus’s staircase very stylish.

Orthopedically speaking, falling on a spiral staircase is much more complicated. In this sense, the "safest" are straight staircases with two flights. Or one listens to the family doctor's mantra of drinking enough – this significantly reduces the risk of falling because dizziness occurs much less frequently.

The straight staircase is probably best suited for a lift
