We basically have exactly the same staircase as Otus, but completely enclosed in walls.
Since the carpenter wanted outrageous prices, we simply carried out the covering in folding structure look ourselves.
For those interested:
You work from bottom to top and always place an inverted "L" glued with lamella connectors on three thick Spax screws (two at the front of the tread, one in the middle at the back), on which you can directly align the step with a spirit level. Once the step fits, we sprayed it with frame foam so that nothing would sound hollow or "bounce" on the screws later. Then it went on with the next inverted "L."
Finally, the staircase was minimally sanded and oiled a bit.
Material: Either from the carpenter or, like us, walnut countertops on offer at OBI, using the cutting service for tread and riser steps. At home, the lamella "holders" were milled out.
Altogether, with foam, screws, and wood, the entire covering cost 589 EUR (countertops were on sale )
Can gladly provide pictures if needed.
Are there any pictures of it by now?
