Wood-aluminum windows vs. plastic windows

I am currently working on my house planning together with our planner and he advises me to use wood-aluminum windows. He said: If he were to build again, that would be what he would like to have. Another construction company told me: He installs 90% plastic windows from Rehau and has never had any problems with them. The extra cost of about €10,000 for all the windows is not worth it.

What is your opinion on this?

Let's put it very simply. Plastic windows can do what wood/aluminum windows can do. Open and close, let light in.

I can think of 10,000 reasons to skip the extra cost.

In current times, I would go for plastic windows. The advantages of wood-aluminum are minimal, the price premium massive. We have wood-aluminum and next time I would choose plastic.

I would take soundproof glass and different bricks, no more unfilled ones. In total, that's also 10,000 euros and you get much more out of it than from wood-aluminum windows.

We have wood aluminum, which I find beautiful and pleasant. I perceive plastic windows as "cheap." So you see, purely a matter of taste and the question of whether 10k€ is worth it.

For my opinion on wood-aluminum, you just have to use the forum search here; then it can rain the whole weekend and there will be nothing good on TV. You only write absolutely ten grand extra cost, but not relative to which comparison value. Wood-aluminum, which is not worthless, should certainly cost significantly more than PVC.
