Oh, I would have assessed it exactly the other way around; in my eyes, this project is an abundance of construction helper activities. Of course, the working hours must also fit together.

Respect, great achievement. My cousin did something similar. He (now 28, without children) also bought an "older" and unsanitary existing house for little money and gradually renovated it almost entirely with his own work. How much he invested, etc., I don’t know now of course, but I know it was a very, very hard time for him and he was often close to giving up. He invested almost every free minute in his house for almost two years until it was finished (his house was even more "in need of renovation" compared to the photos of your house). Absolutely respect! And it has become quite nice inside, and he is rightfully very proud of his own four walls. There is still quite a bit to do on the outside, but he is a "doer" and always needs something to tinker with, otherwise he gets bored quickly. He is also a craftsman by profession. For me, the whole thing would be absolutely nothing, I prefer new buildings and we also have the vast majority done by companies, and the "few" own contributions (which are apparently quite a bit more own work than usual here in the forum) are more than enough for me. I live in a region where a lot of own work is common and it is not unusual for people (including singles) under 30 to renovate their own house on their own or almost entirely build new on their own. I think this is much less common in cities, but in our rural area it really isn’t rare. I have absolute respect for the achievement. I could never do it myself.

A little update from my side.

The walls are plastered and the Thermozell leveling fill has been installed.

Next up is the underfloor heating.

Great, I'm thrilled! At 25, you're still really fresh!

This is going to be great, congratulations on the bargain and all the determination! We did something similar, also bought an older and super ugly house extremely cheap and now it is being renovated. A lot is already (almost) finished, but there is still a lot to do. I would do it the same way again, despite the tougher conditions: unfortunately, the husband doesn’t lift a finger, I’m not a craftsman but a biologist and basically had no clue about anything... especially not that I would have to do it all completely alone, since the husband thinks his contribution to the whole thing is done by working... The floors still aren’t finished after 5 years, so I don’t have a kitchen or large furniture (for example, I don’t have a wardrobe). Well, whatever, you get used to the camping stove. Fortunately, I don’t have children, that probably wouldn’t have worked. But now I have a job (before it was retirement) and even less time. Oh yes, but as long as it’s fun.

A little update from my side.

Water and electrical work are finished, the bathroom is in its final stage, the ceiling is completely paneled, and painting has already started in some rooms. The staircase has also been completed.
