Your wording was somewhat incidental, downplaying.

Have a nice evening

Pay attention to the context....I was joking with haydee. Everything really went smoothly, the cabin is practically free of defects, even the silicone joints are all intact after more than two years. Only one settlement crack in the bedroom.

The people on the island are a people or rather peoples (never lump Scots and Welsh together with the English) by themselves. They cannot build, you cannot sugarcoat that. But they can and love to garden.

Pragmatism in construction, whether above or underground, is seen in the far north. The main thing is that it works, no matter how, with available resources. I mean around the Arctic Circle outside of Europe.

I believe the more interesting question, and the one that provides added value for future builders, is which factors contribute to things running smoothly, right?

Here is my guess,

- sufficient advance planning including familiarization with the subject matter
- a lucky hand in choosing the architect or general contractor
- solid financing and enough buffer
- and yes, I stick to it, daily inspections on the construction site by the builder and communication with the workers
- for all fans of a [Bausparvertrag], also one with sufficient checks
- speaking up when something doesn’t fit or seems strange, even if you are wrong afterwards
- minimal architectural frills also naturally favor it, because there is less potential for errors.

What does everyone else think? Are there any other points?

And yes, everything went smoothly for me except for the installation of the sliding door between the hallway and living room.

Your points are correct. The selection of the BU can be made more concrete. It is not pure luck. The company must fit your house preference. With my trouble-free BU, a passive house might have become a problem because he otherwise doesn't build, doesn't want, doesn't like that. If I had wanted bricks instead of Ytong, I would also have had to choose a different one. The same goes for WDVS, which he rejects. K.

Good listing I would add the following: - friendly and attentive interaction - ability to trust - being able to distinguish between trust and naivety - confident decision-making ability
