Wiring doorbell / intercom system

Regarding the topic of LAN/WLAN, we have already given it some thought. We have provided a connection for an access point on each floor (basement, ground floor, upper floor; attic). We have not yet decided which system we will use, but we still have a good 9-10 months until moving in. Therefore, the WLAN coverage should be stable.

Then is it possibly already too late now? Have you thought about the positioning of the APs (wall, ceiling)? Which ones with or without POE, etc.? Please share your thoughts. There are many here who can provide expert advice :cool:

Too late for what?

So generally, we have planned it as follows:
House connection room in the basement with patch panel and router. On the ground floor, we have a duplex connection planned in the TV area, to which the access point should also be connected (no POE). On the upper floor, the access point with POE is planned in the hallway at the upper end of the wall (ceiling is not possible). Additionally, in every room (except the bathroom) another network connection (simplex). In the attic, we have planned the access point with POE on the ceiling, plus two network sockets (simplex).

It is a terraced end house. Floor area per floor approximately 50 m². On the ground floor there is a small hallway, guest WC, kitchen, and living room (the latter not separated by a wall). On the upper floor, there are 2 bedrooms + 1 bathroom. The attic is an area with relatively many slopes. The exterior walls are solid (KS), the interior walls are lightweight walls.

The surcharge for 2 connections for the monitors / intercoms amounts to €280 plus VAT.

Do it! If that doesn't work properly, it will annoy you badly. You can certainly save those few euros elsewhere.
