Window height for higher ceilings

Hello,

we are currently dealing with the window height of the individual windows in our house. The ceiling on the ground floor should be about 2.70m high. Standard windows usually start at about 90cm sill height and are approximately 125cm high. With a 2.70m high ceiling, there would still be over half a meter of wall above the window. Should the windows just be planned higher or does that look strange from the outside? How high are your (not floor-to-ceiling) windows?

I believe there is no definite standard as such. If you want to install shutters / venetian blinds, add another ~20-25cm for them and another ~20cm for the lintel. That would mean a lintel height of 2.3 m. I would then plan the windows accordingly at 1.4m with a 90 cm parapet. Without shutters, I would even plan 1.6m.

With 2.72-meter ceilings, we have 1.51-meter windows at 92-centimeter parapet height, and 2.42-meter heights for floor-to-ceiling windows.

And without roller shutters on the parapet windows, but with venetian blinds on the floor-to-ceiling windows.

do you perhaps have a photo of the windows? So you only have about 30 cm left for roller shutters and lintel, or is the lintel in the ceiling?
