Hello everyone, does anyone perhaps know whether it complies with the rules of technology if the guide rail of the roller shutters does not extend to the windowsill? In our current house, it looks like it does in picture 7005. To my mind, that is a neat job and the other is shoddy work. Of course, I could also be mistaken.

I am not an expert, but the design in the old house seems better to me. In my case (not a new building), the roller shutter guide rails also end just before the window sills (as in your right picture). Like in the left picture, I would be concerned that the last slat of the roller shutters might get jammed at the bottom. In my opinion, a bit of space is necessary (water drainage, expansion due to heat), but no more than 5 - 10 mm. I find it hard to assess from the photo, but I think it is more for you (2-3 cm?).

That is completely normal for metal window sills when I look around the house here. They are all like this here as well and stop about 1.5 cm before the windowsill. To my understanding, this has nothing to do with shoddy workmanship at all.

This is not shoddy work. This is how it is meant to be.

Today I met with an employee of the architect who is supervising our new building. He brought guidelines for the installation of the windows. According to these, the distance between the guide rail of the roller shutters and the windowsill should not be greater than 8 mm. In our case, it is 15 mm. How it looks on one window can be seen from the photo.

Then you can argue now about where the windowsill begins by definition. Because the guide rail is not hanging in the air either. How did the architect's employee assess the situation found?
