Will your house construction/house purchase prices increase due to corona?

Construction period went smoothly, a few delivery problems in March/April.

Everything went well with the trades and municipal utilities as well.

I built with individual contracts. Unfortunately, €100,000 were accepted too early (shell construction + windows).

For all other trades - 3% makes a mid four-figure bonus, which we, of course, directly invested in gardening ;)

Then I actually misunderstood it. Thanks for the correction.

Currently, I see no reason why the pandemic should drive prices up. The trades are doing the same as before. What could become more expensive, so to speak, is that due to Corona, the 16% [VAT] cannot be claimed because the trades are being rescheduled. Our painter, for example, is closed until 01/10. But since this was an unexpected bonus during the construction phase anyway, it actually didn’t make it more expensive. Rather the opposite, Corona had the potential to make the construction cheaper than planned.

The demand at our general contractor increased during the Corona period (contrary to your concerns about declining demand). Depending on further developments, there will probably be price adjustments at some point (construction start with us therefore not until around August unfortunately).

It would certainly have existed like that as well. Independently of that is the question of whether Corona has increased the costs of a construction and not whether Corona increases future construction costs for houses that have not yet been planned.

Craftsmen availability probably hasn't necessarily benefited from that either.
