Hello everyone,

I have a question: how wide are your hallways or entrance areas? What is an ideal width, for example hallway 1.50 m and entrance area without stairs measured at 1.50 m. Is that wide enough or can it even be narrower to still be practical? Usually you also plan a coat rack in the hallway, maybe a stroller, etc.
Of course, if money is no object, as spacious as possible, but that is rarely the case.

I look forward to your answers

1.50 at the door, at the narrowest point 1m - so that the stroller can pass through.

depends on whether you still have a niche somewhere for a wardrobe or if it will be in the hallway. Without a wardrobe, a width of 1.20 is enough. I wouldn't make the narrowest point smaller, that way there's room for a shoe cabinet or something and you can walk past each other.

Not always that either:
In the RH, if I remember correctly, we had a width of 1.40 in the vestibule, but only 1.80 deep up to the next door. Both doors (entrance and room door) opened into the vestibule – plus the door of the guest WC on the long side: also opening towards the hallway. All of that was quite tight and I wouldn’t want to have it like that today.
We now have about 1.90 (I measured it today... by the way interesting: I had always planned 2 meters back then. The shell measure also matched, now with plaster and everything it’s only about 1.90...) For us, that is generous. I wouldn’t want less since we have a flowing transition to the open dining area. The wardrobe is built under the stairs outside of the 1.90, and at a dresser standing 3 meters from the entrance door there is a passage of 1.30. Everything is perfect: one can stand side by side with guests and take their jackets off.
I think one could dispense with a tile width, that’s 30cm. But then no other furniture should be placed here and there, only one-sided. Also, storage space for strollers, backpacks, and bags would need to be planned a bit more if you don’t want to trip.
And... the hallway has to fit the house!

I agree! In a villa with curved staircase elements, a 1m hallway makes no sense. In a semi-detached house / terraced house with limited space, I would rather forgo a generous hallway if that means having 35 sqm instead of 30 sqm available in the living room.

Well, it's clear that we're not talking about a villa here, otherwise the question wouldn't arise. That would mean an entrance area of 1.70 m would be more than enough, as long as a chest of drawers is then placed in the hallway.
