Yes exactly

The hygiene storage apparently has 75°C

Why? The HVAC specialist said that with the large storage, a small heat pump runs more efficiently later because the temperature in the storage does not drop as much when someone takes a bath (329L minus household member)...

However, you pay for this circumstance with losses. The heat pump can provide heat almost immediately on demand when it is needed or can repeatedly recharge a buffer up to the target temperature that then releases the heat when it is needed. If it is not needed, it is still there and loses energy through cooling.

Just had contact with the construction company. The heating engineer is laying XPS instead of EPS under the buffer at that spot. There will also be underfloor heating installed. Screed is done normally like the rest of the room. Impact sound is not a problem since it is not connected to the wall. Is that okay?

So badly advised, pity... Are those significant additional costs?

The actual additional costs initially relate to the purchase of the components that could have been omitted or sized smaller. In ongoing operation, you naturally won’t notice this because you have no comparison of how it could have been. It cannot be reliably quantified. I learned during the construction that sometimes it’s best to just “let it be” about certain things, since you can’t know everything beforehand and therefore can’t adjust every lever.

Oh, I see. The thing with XPS under the screed is okay also regarding structure-borne noise? I think they will install it tomorrow afternoon?

I am very grateful for your input

XPS is not as soundproofing as EPS but it is okay - and permissible. We also have it like this in the technical room.
