Hello everyone,

what kind of roof have you decided on and why? Surely many of you have restrictions due to the development plan. What did those look like? What did you decide on then, and what would you have chosen without restrictions? Are you satisfied with your choice? What would you do differently now?

And to all those interested in building: How does it look for you? Do you already have favorites for your roof?

Best regards
Ddorfer

p.s. If your option is not included, please choose the one that is closest.

So visually, I like a hipped roof with 2 full stories (a so-called town villa) best, but in the end it will be what is allowed according to the development plan and definitely what is the most affordable (which that is, I don't really know either). In that respect, I don't quite understand what the question or my answer is supposed to achieve for you.

What is the purpose of your "which" inquiries? Do you want to build a house as a representative cross-section of all common preferences, as the statistical "average house"? Your questions will be answered in a preliminary design/design by an architect in coordination with the respective plot situation, the building and planning law requirements, and your budget.

Hello, yes, the hipped roof was also our favorite at the beginning. Visually, it still is. But by now we know that the gable roof offers some advantages, for example, it is cheaper.

In the preliminary building request, we had the restriction of only being allowed to build "single-storey" and then decided on a 34° gable roof in order to achieve a high knee wall while still complying with the requirement "single-storey". We would have preferred to build a 2-storey townhouse with a hip roof, but unfortunately that was not possible.
