Which rimless toilet? Subway 2.0 or Icon Rimfree?

We actually planned to take Subway 2.0 (offener Spülrand) from Villeroy & Boch. Now, however, I have read such bad reviews on the big online department store that I am unsure what we should buy. As an alternative, they also had the Keramag Icon without Spülrand in the bathroom store, but I have already read negative reviews about this one as well. We actually just wanted a toilet that simply works. Does anyone have the Subway 2.0 with offenem Spülrand and can report on it? The coating of the toilets is similar...some find it very good, others write that they cannot see a difference from uncoated ceramic. Best regards Sabine

There are also plenty of regular toilets where it splashes out. Probably all a question of the right pressure!? And nowadays, you’re supposed to keep the toilet lid closed when flushing anyway? Otherwise, toxic gases spread (according to Focus-Online, so not really a reliable source ).

We faced the same decision 2 years ago and then decided on the Xeno2 toilet from Karmag with an open rim for the bathroom and guest toilet, and we haven’t regretted it so far. Nothing splashes out of our toilet, at least we haven’t noticed anything. We also do not flush with the lid closed. We have the toilet without this coating. My use of the toilet brush simply belongs to the "business," regardless of whether the toilet is streak-free or not—that takes at most 5 seconds, and I don’t even think about it. So I really don’t care about the coating. The only thing was that installing the toilet was a bit fiddly because of the concealed wall mounting, but you don’t screw a toilet to the wall every day. The toilet is more than brilliant to clean due to the open rim, and I don’t want to have any other one.

As mentioned at the beginning, we have the Subway 2.0 in the bathroom and the Subway 2.0 compact in the guest bathroom. We moved in just under 2 months ago and use the toilets regularly. I have not experienced any splashing or overflow anywhere here so far. We would definitely recommend it.

I have read about Subway 2.0 that the flushing performance is not very strong and therefore one would have to flush several times. Is that correct?

Best regards

We have the icon rimfree with coating in both bathrooms. The outlet is slightly narrower than with a standard 08/15 toilet, but splashing during flushing, etc., is not noticeable. However, the coating does not completely protect against brake marks either!
