Should not pose a problem with "dimmable" LEDs. For example, we have also converted our halogen floor lamp (dimmable) to LED. The light color is almost identical....
... which does not mean that it can handle the lower minimum load of LEDs.
If the old dimmer needs to be replaced, beware:
Some electronic dimmers, such as the Gira LED universal dimmer, require a (usually blue-coated) neutral conductor as a third connection (in addition to black and brown) in the flush-mounted box for LED operation.
I would be interested to know if the dimmable LEDs have a shorter lifespan. I have the problem that many LEDs, advertised as "eternally durable," fail on me because they are controlled by a timer switch. Is it the same with dimmers?
