Which heating system is suitable for a hostel in Salzburg?

Hello, I am currently working on the heating planning for my thesis. But I don't know which heating system would be suitable. All I know is that oil, gas, wood(?) are rather taboo. So only district heating or heat pump remain. Which makes more sense? Heat pump or district heating? If there are other systems, I would be grateful if you could name them. The total heated area is 1440 m2 and the location is Salzburg, Austria. Best regards

Who is supposed/can possibly plan a heating system if they lack even the most basic trivial knowledge in this subject?

Greetings to Austria (where people are usually so proud that the skilled labor shortage is a privilege of the Piefkes and that they themselves are not doing so badly even in Pisa)! Oil, gas, and wood are not heating systems, but fuels. And you should know the wide range of heat generation and distribution systems comprehensively long before working on a thesis as a supply engineer. Just as well as the fact that for the thesis project itself you have to describe a fictional object in more detail than with a (here moreover unsuitable!) size indication. I can tell you all this off the cuff — mind you, as a (Cis-)Piefke who has never set foot inside an Austrian university (which for me, lacking A-levels, would anyway only be possible as a visitor or at best a guest auditor). It was an honor!

Does the thesis need heating?

A thesis (or rather, its printout on paper) would at least be a possible — if no longer contemporary — fuel :)
