Good evening everyone,

We now have three relatively comparable offers for our front door. I wanted to ask which manufacturer (door and lock) is considered to be of the highest quality.

The video intercom system used is the Wantec Monolith (with Ekey).

About the door:
- Aluminum
- Total width 1700mm
- Height 2350mm
- closed leaf
- fixed glazing on the side
- RAL7016
- approx. 1800mm high handle

Offer 1:
Inotherm door 1100mm x 2315mm
Handle 1500mm
Motor lock BT1020L (Winkhaus)
"5-FOLD BOLT-SWING BOLT WITH ELECTROMECHANICAL DRIVE - STAINLESS STEEL /
CABLE TRANSITION"
==> €4722

Alternatively with finger scan in the handle (does anyone know if this is an eKey?)
"ZAE 76 F ML PULL HANDLE - STAINLESS MATT (MOTIF LENGTH MAX=1800 mm) / FINGER SCAN / L=1800 mm"
==> €4928

Offer 2:
Front door "Aktion Serie ECO - Volaris" 1130 x 2320mm
Handle 1600mm
Motor lock Fuhr Multitronic 881
==> €5000

Offer 3:
Hörmann ThermoSafe 1200 x 2470mm
Handle HOE797 (approx. 1800mm)
Motor lock GU S5 Comfort KÜ
==> €5439

I am curious about your experiences!

Regards and thanks in advance

We have the GU lock. It can only be opened electrically. Locking happens automatically and mechanically.

The thread comes at the right time. We want to order the front door in 2 months.

Just a basic question: Do you need an electric front door lock if you don't intend to open the door "smartly"?

Or does the aforementioned lock actually have advantages over a manual lock?

Hmm, a matter of taste. With us, the door is always fully locked as soon as it closes because the additional locks automatically engage.

With a normal door, there is only the regular latch.

In other words, if you forget to properly lock the door again with the key and just let it close and go to work, it is still locked.

Ok, that is indeed a good reason. Constantly locking up in the evening really gets on my nerves. But is it worth the amount x?! How much does this usually cost?

EDIT: I just saw for myself, 1000€ gross for an automatic 7-point locking system without fingerprint. More with fingerprint. Ouch
