Which flooring is suitable in the upper hallway with a beech staircase?

The staircase is independent. Contrast or similarity or something completely different may follow it. So, nothing now would be a disaster. However, I find more than 2 floor coverings on one level too much. If you don’t want to redo the rooms with laminate and carpet at all, for cost reasons, I would either buy more laminate or carpet for the hallway.
