Which flooring is suitable for a combined kitchen/dining room?

We have installed vinyl in a herringbone pattern and are very satisfied with it so far.

A bit off-topic, but do you have the floor plan of the room from the picture above? Our open-plan living area will probably look similar; that might help us a bit for inspiration. I find that very exciting :)

We have also completely laid parquet flooring in the living and dining area. We simply placed a small, nice rug in the spot where the [waschbecken] is located. It has worked well so far, even with a toddler. Liquids, etc., of course need to be removed immediately.

Thank you for your replies, that already helped us a lot! :) We will probably go with tiles in the kitchen and parquet in the dining area. : it would be great if you have a current picture, it already looks great during the construction phase :)

We have tiled the kitchen and parquet in the dining/living area. Here is a picture from the construction phase, I will look for a current picture when I have the chance. I would do it that way again
