Show the site plan including the development plan. Also the floor plans. Where do they come from? Windows facing the neighbor must also comply with fire protection regulations, which are again governed by the border distances (state building code). Could it be that you just googled narrow floor plans without any knowledge, assuming everything is possible?

Geoportal excerpt see attachment. There is no development plan there. All plots are that narrow. However, these are not terraced houses.

I don't suspect a development plan, but I don't believe in options either – rather in a mutual obligation to build on both sides. We are probably talking about this property:

I also tend towards 7x12m. Thanks for your additional opinions. And that no one considers the meter as critical. I also think that it rarely takes more to get past the house into the garden.

What is red and what is yellow?
Where is your property? Dimensions? Floor plans?
Looks quite rural ... then of course the houses stand close together with a front yard or not. Interesting project!

Who sells such a building plot? These are usually plots for terraced houses?

Please upload the plot plan. Is there a floor area ratio or plot ratio? Development plan? Section 34? Federal state?

Without knowing such important details, no advice can be given here.
