Are the conditions retained when converting to Wohnriester? Someone wanted to sell us a new bad one. I canceled the old one, only taking advantage of my wife's child allowances.

The money for the Riester is deducted from the gross income... does that happen automatically, rather not, right? So what you mean is retroactively through the tax return? Otherwise, the employer would have to withhold something from my gross income.

And how is it in the middle of the year? Do you also receive the allowances if I now pay in 2100€ * 4 and then 4% from May?

The person from the Sparkasse also wanted to immediately convert my Riester to a home Riester, certainly under current conditions.

The allowances are granted retroactively based on the contributions paid in the previous year. The 4% of the gross amount or a maximum of 2100 euros applies, by the way, including allowances. The personal contribution therefore decreases further the higher the entitlement to allowances is.

Exactly, so effectively the 4% -775€, or a maximum of 2100€ - 775€.

Again: you do not convert anything into [Wohnriester]. It always remains the old contract, only the capital is used differently, not as a pension, but for debt repayment [IMMO]. No new contracts. That is nonsense. Please go to pension counseling.

Our contributions for the Wohnriester are deducted from the net salary.

In other words, if we were to claim that in the tax return, we would be double-taxing it.

The main thing is that enough has been paid in during the year for which you want to receive allowances the following year.
