I like that too. Actually a Madonna with child, Hansen, Dk, 1937.

Nothing, zero, nada. Just Ikea pictures and family collages. Are total art philistines. ARTE is banned on channel 45.

It's definitely important. I would never hang pictures from the furniture store on my wall. But you can't just go out and buy a beautiful painting or a great print on command either. You have to take it when you see something you like. It can be at an exhibition, in an artist's studio, or even at an art market on vacation. Having a piano in the house is also nice, of course only if someone can play it.

But please no Beethoven bust ;) We have a colorful mix of IKEA pictures (but there are fewer and fewer, that time is probably over) to a guestbook picture from our wedding to limited wood prints that mean something aesthetically and personally to us. I find any prints of famous paintings or so stupid. Sculptures are, in my opinion, a fine line, it easily becomes pretentious and kitschy.

Says woman also, that with sculptures and kitsch, but I have such a tendency for it, it can also be quirky. although there are limits for both paintings and sculptures, at least for me. Michelangelo's Pieta in St. Peter's Basilica moves to tears, but does not belong in the living room, his Creation of Adam in the Sistine Chapel is just to marvel at, but as a print on the wall from the poster shop it is a confusion. Some things are simply either original or not at all, because the original also belongs to the place where it is embedded. A piano with a Beethoven bust is, in my opinion, funny, if someone can also play a few bars of the master. Karsten

I am an aesthete, and as a photographer very particular when it comes to pictures. Since I am extremely critical, we have few pictures on the walls. One canvas is left open and waiting to be painted. I used to be good at that - now I have respect for not pleasing myself with it ;) A few stone sculptures (larger stones with faces) lie or stand in the garden, discreetly among the greenery. Prefabricated pictures without personality would be a no-go for me.
