You get cracks anyway, wood simply moves. And whether it's roll plaster or trowel plaster that cracks, it doesn't matter at all. I have processed a lot of roll plaster and am very satisfied with it. Covers very well, uniform and fine texture, and super easy to work with. Apply a proper plaster base, let it dry, and then put on the roll plaster. Done. Especially on ceilings, it's a blessing. Instead of woodchip wallpaper. We first used Knauf Easy Plaster, later the roll plaster from GIMA. It is a mineral and breathable plaster, very white because it contains Carrara dust.
