Of course you may ask, we chose the SC23 because we are 5 people and it will be a two-family house. A small gain in comfort is also relevant, the SC23 has a pre-alarm for the salt supply and notifies via app. I specifically inquired directly at Grünbeck about the size, on their side they say that the SC23 is designed for up to a maximum of 12 people, if there are fewer it simply needs less salt. They should rather write 1-12 people in the description. In addition, we are getting two Rainshower showers where the flow rate also plays a role.

Yes, the price was great, I had been watching it on Idealo all the time, and when the price popped up I jumped on it, it has been here since Tuesday waiting for the house to finally be built around it

You got a good salesperson there. For the regeneration of your installed system, you always need the same amount of salt per regeneration. Since the system is designed far too large, you probably won't reach the range in which your system operates economically – after 96 hours at the latest, forced regeneration occurs, and then you lose the capacity that has not been used until then and it is fully regenerated. Choosing a larger one because it drives more economically is not possible here, especially due to salt consumption and wastewater caused by the larger volume.

Oh well.... I don’t care then, I still wouldn’t have reached my required flow rates with the smaller SC18, that’s also a point. If it’s based on the number of people, the SC18 would be at maximum capacity, but it’s not just about the people, it’s also about the actual consumers. There’s a difference whether you have "only" 5 people in 1 house or 5 people in 2 houses. There are also a total of 3 showers, 2 bathtubs, 2 kitchens, 2 washing machines, etc.... sorry but the SC18 wouldn’t have been able to handle that. So if it now consumes more salt, that’s just how it is; because of the 2 residential units I also need more electricity, more water, more heating, basically more of everything, it can happen!

That means for me, the small SC18 would be too small, the SC23 is perfectly sized.

By the way, that's not true as can be read in the datasheet. It says, quote:

So the system needs 0.27kg UP TO 0.95kg, so not always the same amount; therefore, the "seller" (who, by the way, was a technician from Grünbeck) was actually right with his statement.

Hm, the judo i-soft plus already costs around 3000 Plus installation and electrical work, I already reach 4. So much too expensive?!

In ion exchangers, no more salt is reintroduced than the Ca or Mg ions that were previously bound. Of course, the consumption scales somewhere with the system size, due to technical reasons, but in principle your statement is not correct. And even if it were, salt is actually not a cost factor. I would also be interested to know how the mentioned systems "without chemicals" work ...
