Hello everyone,
we have decided on a pool and also want the automatic water replenishment. That means we need water in our outdoor storage where the pool technology and the irrigation control are to be located. Of course, we didn’t think about this during planning and execution, since the desire for a pool and automatic irrigation came much later. Whatever.
The outdoor storage is part of the house, but it is not part of the thermal envelope and has no direct access from the house. Now the question is how we can establish the water connection in the outdoor storage. We would definitely put a separation station in front. There are actually two possibilities:
1) The pool builder’s suggestion was actually that we lay an additional cold water line from the utility room on the opposite side into the outdoor storage. We can branch off from it. However, this would require a core drilling through the concrete wall and the insulation. I actually want to avoid that. But the pool builder says that this is absolutely no problem if the drilling is foamed shut afterward. So neither from a thermal nor soundproofing point of view, especially since the outdoor storage also has a door and is otherwise already sealed.
2) The question I have only considered so far. At the front, we already have a frost-proof outdoor faucet. Would it theoretically be possible to modify it or go from it through the garden and the front, uninsulated wall of the outdoor storage to supply the technology? Or is this for some reason not sensible or possible? The then missing outdoor faucet could be compensated with a water socket, if it works out?

What do the experts say? Is the solution with the additional line safe and cleaner? Or are you risking creating a hole that wouldn’t have to be there?
Regards
