As someone probably of a similar age, I can only completely agree with the basic content of your statement. But since you addressed this topic especially from an ecological perspective, this is not about fulfilling "own wishes" but about achieving an ecologically sensible goal of a planned measure, and I absolutely doubt that one would save energy or water with hand-mixed water. My single-lever mixer in the bathroom is set exactly so that the water always comes out at the temperature my wrinkled skin likes, right from the very first drop. Until a two-handle mixer reaches this state, at least a few drops of cold or improperly tempered water uselessly flow down the drain, which is the opposite of what should be achieved. The almost world-changing innovation of "Coolstart" was apparently implemented for people who cannot bear the lever not being straight but turned to the left, or maybe for families with children or people who handle it rather unconsciously. I understand your intention and also pay attention to it, but I simply keep the lever set to -cold- and I too grew up with a wood stove in the bathroom and much more. Now you've got the mess; you just wanted a recommendation for a faucet........ Screwing a faucet onto a wooden board causes trouble......It is and remains an individual, personal wish of both of us and over the last 60 years we have learned that you can sometimes fulfill your own wishes, even if they are met with incomprehension in the eyes of others. Even if it is just a faucet or a sink.
Aha, here lies the significant potential for optimization, maybe we should discuss more deeply what possibilities "man" finds there(My wife feels exactly the same way, she just doesn't pay as much attention to it in everyday life!)
