I have, regardless of the thread starter, my controlled residential ventilation also in the attic. However, both the rafters and the attic floor are insulated (so double). The attic is unheated, and is ventilated at a very low level by the controlled residential ventilation, so whenever you go there, the air is pleasant, and there is no mold or anything else. It is frost-free there and all stored items have so far (well, a little over a year only) been in very good condition.
