Hello dear forum,
I have bought a new build apartment. Now I have to decide whether I want underfloor heating or not. Since I have no experience with it at all, I want to ask here what I should pay attention to or if it is just as good to operate a normal gas heating system.

Both types of heating run on gas. A small technical room is planned in the apartment for the technology.

The only thing I know so far is that I would prefer not to have underfloor heating in the bedroom. I never (or almost never) heat my bedroom.

The floor will be wooden plank parquet, oak wood. Apparently suitable for underfloor heating.

How expensive would underfloor heating be for an apartment of 90sqm? The open living-kitchen room is 36sqm.

I look forward to your experiences, tips and advice.

A mix is already completely wrong... so either all underfloor heating or all radiators, also in the bedroom, then everything is just turned down there.

I would choose underfloor heating; it is simply more comfortable and also more economical...

You have to make sure that the manifold is installed in the hallway or bathroom. The laying spacing should be adhered to and the whole system must also be properly sized.

Later, a hydraulic balancing should be carried out.

There should be no price difference regardless of what you decide.

Why is a mix not a good idea? And with no price difference, well, I am calculating 4000 euros extra costs. The construction project was of course planned with the simplest/ugliest radiators, so my "heating" budget is not very large either.

What is a hydraulic balancing? I will also google it right away. I'm heading off on vacation soon, then I'll have time to do some research.

Why should the manifold be in the bathroom or hallway and not in the "technical room"? Because of accessibility?

Thanks in advance for your answer

no mix, because then you don't need two different temperatures... underfloor heating runs at roughly 35 degrees, radiators at 55 (unless you have huge ones, then a bit less) with the mix you have more "unnecessary" technology, control, and everything else that goes with it.

If you have a technical room, then gladly put the manifold there... but it should be as central as possible to keep the pipes short, and the room where the manifold is will be the warmest because you can't regulate it there, since all the pipes are there.

For solid wood floors radiator. For vinyl or tiles firmly glued floor. Wood insulated. Not a good topcoat for vehicles. Cork would be the worst. Almost nothing goes through there. Mix, no. I am with mycraft.

That is a bit exaggerated now. Solid wood parquet glued down is perfect for underfloor heating. And cork glued down is also no problem, even cork on carrier boards is suitable, as the thermal conductivity value is still less than 15. Certainly some things are better, but I don't think you'll notice it.
