Underfloor heating with individual room control very bad?

Hello everyone,

we are planning a semi-detached house with two full floors + basement, air-water heat pump and underfloor heating, no KfW, solid construction, building site in Middle Franconia/Bavaria.
Heated are:
Basement: a hobby room approx. 38 sqm
Ground floor: guest room - living/dining/kitchen - hallway - bathroom-WC approx. 80 sqm
Upper floor: 1x child - 1x office - 1x bedroom - bathroom approx. 80 sqm

The heating engineer has planned individual room control with thermostats for the underfloor heating.
I once read that this is not so good – because of flow temperatures, etc.
However, I see some pro arguments: e.g. sleeping/children rooms we would sometimes turn off (sleeping rather cold), the basement is also not always needed.
Is it really bad? Does it make sense to group some rooms together (e.g. separately basement, upper floor and ground floor)?

Thanks for your tips!

Best regards
Nils

No, ERR are not bad. But it's better without.

Some (general and partly simplified) info:
- in a new building, you can forget about having significantly different temperatures (2-3 degrees is the maximum)
- turning it off briefly means the temperature might drop slightly 4-8 hours later. Turning it on briefly is exactly the opposite. If the heating water flows through the circuits at 28 degrees, you can't expect spontaneous miracles. And if you, for example, turn off your refrigerator (a good example for a well-insulated house), it takes ages for the temperature to rise
- grouping rooms together? No, the more circuits per laid meter, the better
- waiving ERR requires a separate approval. You are officially not allowed to do that just like that (see Building Energy Act)
- a room-by-room heating load calculation must be done. Please with your specifications – e.g. living room preferably 22.5 degrees, bathroom 24 degrees, bedroom 20 degrees. With this planning and as low as possible flow temperature of the underfloor heating, the heating is then calculated and planned
- understanding how ERR works: comparison with a car. ERR = brake. Heat pump = engine. Your car is also not efficient if you drive full throttle but control the speed by constantly pressing the brake. Better to drive evenly. It’s the same with the heat pump. With ERR you switch a room completely off. It’s only on/off. So better plan and adjust well (= hydraulic balancing). In winter, then possibly readjust and just let the heating do its work.

Any questions? Then shoot ;-)
