Yes, it actually did stand, but we were made aware of geocollect by our heating engineer. Just google it, I’m not allowed to link it here. It sounds interesting and would at least be an installation done by the heating installer.
I wouldn’t state that a brine system is ALWAYS better than an air-water heat pump like that. Take a look at the Vitocal 300a values in practice. Some of them have a seasonal performance factor above 4.5. And I’ve already seen brine pumps that don’t reach that value. There isn’t that much difference nowadays. And the much higher investment in drilling probably won’t pay off within a lifetime with a 0.5 lower seasonal performance factor ratio. I find trench collectors interesting but too uncertain. That’s why now considering geocollect. But I think in the end I’ll save the money and rather put photovoltaic panels on the roof. You get more return.
