All (living) trees must be removed - at least in residential areas - and, if necessary, replaced by artificial trees!

(Warning! The above sentence may contain traces of irony …)

I wouldn’t go that far. Only lime trees and maybe birches (because of allergies, otherwise I actually like them). I would even find a willow very nice. As a child, I always had my secret hideouts in there.

At the street in front of our house, there are seven large birch trees. Four of them are going away this month because they shade the neighbor's new photovoltaic system. I have reported this before.
It is a pity, even though it results in significantly less leaves, etc.
But that doesn’t help the OP. Just wanted to mention it again.

Well, maybe, because the path the neighbor took could also help the OP...

One neighbor talks to the neighbor on whose property the birch trees stand. He gave his 'ok' and the fate of the trees was sealed.

A linden tree would annoy me too. Everything in the vicinity will be covered in sap, including windows, cars, awnings/sailcloths, etc. I wouldn't want a tree like that either.
