We also decided on an electric one. This way, during the transition period when the underfloor heating is not yet on, the room can still be heated if necessary.

Yes, that way you kill a bunch of flies at once.

Install the underfloor heating in the bathroom as closely spaced as possible, and I would also cover a few square meters of wall area with the underfloor heating. Depending on the floor plan, otherwise it remains colder in the bathroom than in the rest of the house. You will learn more when you have the underfloor heating planned, based on a room-specific heat load calculation.

Electric heating is the right choice. But also take a look at infrared heating, it feels warm faster. It is also available as a mirror. We have electric towel heaters and you have to turn them on at least 30 minutes earlier for it to have an effect.

We have regular towel radiators in addition to the close installation of the underfloor heating, which is operated at the same low temperature. In the bathroom it is 24 degrees and the towels dry quickly enough. So far, we have not noticed negatively that it is supposed not to work so well.

The electric heating in the bathroom is recommended to operate the heat pump more efficiently, less because of the towels. We only reach 21 degrees in the bathroom with close installation, as in the rest of the house, and heat electrically in the bathroom as needed. With underfloor heating additionally in the wall, it might be 22 degrees. If I wanted 24 degrees in the bathroom via the heat pump, of course that is possible, but I would have to significantly increase the flow temperature and at the same time strongly throttle all other rooms in the house just because of the bathroom, so that they do not become too warm. The coefficient of performance of the heat pump decreases with higher flow temperature. Google ERR, buffer tank and hydraulic balancing if you want to optimize your system. Your towel radiator should then become only lukewarm at most, and that only when it freezes outside.

The towel radiator is always a bit warmer than room temperature. The towels are always dry for showering.

The bathroom, together with the common room, is the control room for the temperature in our house; both have at least 23 degrees. That accounts for about 50% of the house area. The buffer storage is the underfloor heating, the heating curve is adjusted accordingly, and I have started with the hydraulic balancing, which fits ok at the moment. Our annual performance factor is over 4, and in the first year, we spent 60-70€ per month for hot water/heating. Maybe there is potential for improvement, but having to remember to activate the auxiliary heating in time is not worth it for me to go further.
