Hi everyone,

The shell construction including the brickwork will be completed at the end of August. To gain some time towards the end, I would be interested to know if and what you have planned/carried out in terms of the sequence of trades.

The carpenter and roofer are practically ready and would start immediately after the shell construction, but in parallel I would already have the measurements of the windows taken (windows have a delivery time of about 3 weeks). For example, what would you have done or planned during the delivery time of the windows so that I can gain some time towards the end?

The same applies later during the drying phase of the screed.

Looking forward to your ideas/inspirations.

Best regards & thanks Piotr

What everyone gets done. Plumbing and electrical work, then underfloor heating. Otherwise, no screed can be laid. Overall, there are no "tricks" in a normal construction process to save time. Be glad if the trades can seamlessly build on each other - that is the real art.

So with us, the shell construction was completed two weeks earlier than planned, so the screed could also come earlier. Unfortunately, the plumber and we ourselves were behind schedule. So, in the end, we couldn't make up any time. Ultimately, you can be glad if you have a buffer so that - if there is a delay with a trade - you can still finish reasonably on time.

If you really want to do something (and of course I have the space for it), I would take care of the outdoor facilities afterwards. The whole gravel etc. that you constantly carry into the house now really annoys me. We would have had enough time between the end of the facade and the own work for that. Unfortunately, the weather in March was suboptimal for it (although, a garden landscaper probably wouldn't have minded).

Super, many thanks!
What do you mean by "of course have the space for it"?
I've also thought about the outdoor facilities, but I somehow fear that, for example, the paving in front of the house might possibly be damaged.

There will still be a lot of people coming in and out there
or do you rather mean the garden?

why should a pavement be damaged if people walk on it? that's what it's there for... of course you don't pave a barbecue area in the garden corner if a digger still has to go through there... but the access path?
