Tiling the bathroom walls up to the ceiling?

I think there is no general rule nowadays. Whether to tile up to the ceiling is a personal decision based on taste, etc. In our new building, for example, we had tiles installed up to the ceiling. I also know that you can often get brand-name products, for example on the internet, in professional quality but cheaper if you know what you want.

If you do a lot yourself, you can buy specialist trade products at sometimes favorable prices with free shipping from internet-based specialist retailers (google "Badausstatter", the first result just as an example).

And if you don’t do much yourself, you can still get an offer from a local plumber – mine is partly below the prices of Reuter, Megabad, and all the others. Mostly the same, sometimes slightly more expensive – but in return I also get everything installed, I don’t have to worry about delivery defects, and I’m mainly supporting the local mid-sized businesses.

Not everything online is always cheaper... I have also always gotten building materials cheaper at the local store so far.

so we tiled our wellness bathroom all the way up because we have beautiful large tiles with slightly shimmering trees in the background. Together with the suspended ceiling and indirect lighting, it looks great and is also low-maintenance since you only have to clean the wall tiles and don’t have to repaint every few years.

In the price comparison at the time, it was also much cheaper than half tiled and half plastered.

It was the same for us. On average, the prices for sanitary equipment were the same as in the online shops.
