How is that supposed to work when the material including accessories and tools already costs 10k€? I am basically for DIY even though I won’t lift a finger if I don’t have to.

But then please at least only the basement where it doesn’t matter if it looks crappy.

Honestly, I have to agree with Bookstar. How long do you have to work to earn 30k net? The result surely won’t be exactly the same or might even be worse. But saving 30k and accepting lower quality is an option for me!

There are no 30k€ savings because the material already costs that much. There will also be no 25k€ savings if he has the bathrooms done. Bathrooms and floors are a mixed calculation for a tiler. If you only let the tiler do the tedious work, it will be more expensive than if a flat surface is added. It's like showing up at the car repair shop with your own H4 bulbs.

But not with 60 x 60 tiles... if one corner or another is raised or the grout lines are not straight: you'll be annoyed your whole life when you constantly trip or see the unevenness.

If that's too expensive, then resort to alternative floor coverings in the living area.

yes, 60 x 60 is already borderline in DIY, 30 x 60 can usually be tiled by any layperson without two left hands. For larger formats, you should have someone who has done it a few times with you.

I’ve already looked at many bathrooms and even tilers who have learned the trade don’t always work neatly. The highlight was an acquaintance who invited us and previously said she was so satisfied with the tiler. I tripped over several spots with my foot, joint size variable. But satisfied customer.

I then preferred to say nothing.

One can also get stuck because tiles could be bowls. Laid then in a running bond, and you have at the spot where corners meet in the middle a height difference that the best tiler cannot even out (but excuses - from my desired running bond it therefore became a third-bond, since the tiles were set...)
