Hello everyone,

I am new here in the forum. At the beginning of the year, I bought a house. In the living room, there is a large tile stove installed, which I had repainted by a painter. He used the paint that you can find in the attachment. Since the stove smells of paint when in use and also turns slightly yellowish (it is painted white), I googled the paint and found out that it is not intended for use in heating systems. Should I be worried about the smell? The children’s eyes were burning during the heating period.

Thank you for your help

You are already answering the question with the second sentence. So why was the stove running the entire heating period at all, and why are you only asking here now instead of giving the painter a piece of your mind?

The oven only ran once. The painter, of course, does not want to admit his mistake. Then I will have to get a lawyer, whether I like it or not.

Ok, that's already good. Actually, every paint smells - even the high-temperature resistant ones or the paint for radiators. The manufacturer himself states that a typical material-related odor development occurs. ==> see datasheet Here too, I refer to the datasheet and preferably to the following wording: And the next reference to the datasheet: The painter should have informed you that the paint turns yellowish - this is also a reason why there is special paint for heating systems. Hit him with the datasheet. In the second step, threaten with a lawyer if he still remains uncooperative. Especially with the manufacturer's statement that the paint is explicitly not suitable for heating systems, he will always come off worse.
