Hello everyone,

we are currently facing the decision of either having the developer prepare e-mobility at the house or asking ourselves whether it can still be done well afterwards. I have some doubts about a KfW-insulated house whether it can be made so airtight afterwards. However, the price of €1,375 for the following services put us off a bit:

Meter space prepared in the technical center according to VDE AR-N 4101:2015 and §14a EnWG for controllable consumers, including excavation of the electrical trench W/H approx. 40/80 cm, laying of NYY 5x6 mm² from sub-distribution to garage or parking space, laying of network cable from APL position to garage or parking space, refilling and professional compaction of the trench up to the parking space or in the garage, or garage space Not included: charging station or distributor.

What do you think, have it done right away or too expensive and do it afterwards in a few years? Currently, there is neither an electric car present nor planned. Due to our own photovoltaic system and the "future," it will probably become a topic sooner or later.

That doesn't seem cheap to me, although the length of the cable is unclear. But the retrofit would certainly become more expensive if half of the driveway, etc., had to be torn up.

Afterwards is always more expensive. You dig around, everything is compacted, etc. With us, it was like that with the sauna; within a few days, we had to pull annoying high-voltage cables around the house. Terrace opened, digging, and so on.

How far is the space from the sub-distribution? If necessary, you should use a thicker cable here. Otherwise, I don’t find the price cheap but it’s probably acceptable given the necessary tasks. However, it might be sensible to have the wall box installed directly (with subsidy).

Is the funding not only available for existing buildings?

Unfortunately yes, it can only be applied for after occupancy. Then thanks for the opinions, for simplicity's sake we will probably better commission the developer directly.
