The window company is not delivering the agreed roller shutter boxes

You see, that’s exactly the problem with building (or having someone build) a house. For example, I am on the construction site about 2 hours daily, have read up on it, and roughly know how it should be. But now there are "craftsmen" who do not master the German language and don’t even care when you try with hands and feet to make them understand what you mean. The boss is not there or not reachable. That and a lot more has led to us building since October 2018, 3 completion dates being postponed, having had 3 surveyors and 1 wannabe surveyor, 2 external construction supervisors, 1 lawsuit, having to go through 3 further legal disputes, and another one is looming. Building is nice! But I don’t want to discourage you; I’ve heard it can also go better.

Thank you for still taking the trouble to write here in the construction forum and share your experiences. If I understand you correctly, it’s just about recognizing whether botched work is happening. Possibly also hoping that personal presence on the construction site will deter botching?

I have shared all my previous experiences in a thread here in the forum. Unfortunately, it was deleted without comment about 2 weeks ago and I was banned. For me, it was quite helpful to be able to "vent" once, but obviously someone did not like it. Of course, you cannot paint all construction companies with the same brush and you should have a certain basic trust first. There are definitely companies that deliver quality, like my window construction company now, but unfortunately you can’t rely on that. Being on site more often is definitely advisable and taking lots and lots of photos. In case they are needed later as evidence, as in our case. Don’t let yourself be discouraged!

Here is an example: When you remove the tape, you see what's behind it: namely nothing. Great sealing! You just always have to be there at the right time before it gets completely hidden.

The primary effect of the tomcat’s presence is that the mice don’t dance on the table. For that, the tomcat has to know near which cheese he should look especially sternly. Or as Peter Frankenfeld once sang, "if you look away from the spot, the overseer is gone" :-)
