Hello,

so in the construction contract only the start of construction is fixed for spring 2020, completion is by agreement with the client... I will know more next time..

I also do not understand why I am immediately assumed to have financial difficulties here.. It is obviously clear that if it is supposed to start at the beginning of March, then you are eager and simply happy about it. If it is then constantly postponed, that is simply frustrating!

I asked because I wanted to know if this is "normal" with construction companies, or if you have some kind of leverage. Apparently I do not, as I now know.

Financially, the delay does not matter to me. The commitment interest, which will only be due for one part starting in October, and for another part even later, does not hurt me. I am also financially absolutely not dependent on the move (even if it takes another 2 years), I am just looking forward to the new property!

The only thing that actually annoys me is that the other craftsmen, who have scheduled this, will now postpone their appointments again.

Yes, this is the usual dilemma. Probably skimped at the wrong end. If the contracts had been carefully reviewed, the note would have come up. The clause about completion is also a strange one!

This is how house construction works. And craftsmen are used to changing appointments. Your project is not the only one.

But be a bit more relaxed regarding the exceptional situation of the pandemic – many things will probably go differently than you thought.

It's almost like Corona

Corona will accompany us for a longer time... Either until about two-thirds of the population have had contact, or until there is a vaccine available nationwide. And there is no use fooling yourself, before Hein Mück from Klein Kleckersdorf gets vaccinated, system-relevant occupational groups will go first, then high-risk groups. Craftsmen certainly do not belong to these (not system-relevant) ...
