I can only agree with my predecessors: Payment only after service has been performed and accepted.

A quick hello from on the go, I'll try to set it up later. We ourselves also initially understood it differently, possibly a misunderstanding?

In any case, we would have to pay 3 percent of the total amount "nach Vertrags Bestätigung" by the company.

No, the upload somehow doesn't work.

Then typed manually:

1. After contract confirmation: 3%
2. After completion of the building permit documents: 5%
3. After completion of the foundation slab: 10%
4. After delivery of the DT compounds: 10%
etc., always 10% steps
Last point: After announcement of completion 2%.

Apparently, this is not unusual, although I am still not sure whether our payments really run ahead of the construction progress.

Possibly because the points contract signing and building documents do not mean that anything has happened on the construction site?

You should quickly let go of that idea. There are so many things that need to be done in advance.

We were impatient recently too, had already paid nearly 30,000 euros and not a single blade of grass was moved on the property.

I assume that preparing the documents is also work and can and should be remunerated accordingly.
