Ok, when I read the comments here, I am no longer surprised why you see so much creativity and architecturally appealing designs in CH, while in D there are only boring gable and hip roofs, and preferably in pee-yellow and crap-brown.

Hello,

Because on classic semi-detached house plots with typical building windows of 6.00 / 6.50 m, sometimes also 7.00 m, it would be a valuable waste of space for builders.

You also have 4 own walls with a classic semi-detached house; nowadays, party walls are no longer shared.

Such types of construction projects in Germany could certainly only be realized under condominium law, since the passage and roof overhang probably belong proportionally to both building partners. Not to mention the required building line restrictions ;)

Overall, I don't think the idea is bad; it definitely offers a break from monotonous terraced housing development.

Rhenish greetings

Creativity and architecturally appealing are indeed two different worlds. It may be a (new) idea – yes. Whether it is appealing is individually different – I personally find it ugly – but that has nothing to do with you! So don’t take it personally if other people don’t find it appealing. I have a piss yellow house with a gable roof (as a semi-detached house). I still find it beautiful – thanks for your contribution ;)

I recently saw something like that taken to the extreme. In front of the house was the garage with a carport in the middle, in the same style. The house behind was built the same way. It takes getting used to in Germany, but it doesn't actually look that bad. For me, though, it wouldn't be anything, I'd prefer a classic division. But there are worse divisions, for example when the division is not across the street but along the street (one has the front, the other the back piece with right of way in front). The front property suddenly becomes completely worthless ^^ Someone wanted to sell here, a 15-year-old semi-detached house with all the bells and whistles for 150,000€. The back half was easily worth 100,000 more.
