The heating season is open!

When we moved into the house, the gas meter showed 800m³. So we blew through almost 10,000kWh for drying :) after 1 year it now shows 1600m³.

We didn't want to subject our heat pump to that, nor the electricity meter :). That's why we used a mobile oil heater for the screed drying, refilling oil twice was enough :)

Our heat pump only runs at partial load, the other part with the electric heating rod. But it's certainly not going to be cheap. Especially since the painters were here for 4 days, they had to open the windows a lot, otherwise they would have felt suffocated. That must have wasted quite a bit of energy.

May I ask how much the mobile oil heater including commissioning cost?

We had 5178 kWh of electricity on the sub-meter for heating shortly after moving in - now (a good 6 months later) it is 5502 kWh.

Nothing at all, I have the heating specialist in the family ;). But something like that should be significantly cheaper than using a heating rod. You just have to lead the pipes for the supply and return flow out of the house, but that worked well through a light well.

If you do it properly without a heating expert in the family, it will certainly be more expensive (renting a mobile heater, delivery, oil pan, insurance, fuel, operation, removal) than simply setting the screed program on the heat pump and paying for the electricity. We have had to heat for almost a week.

My personal tip: set the rate for electricity a bit higher and so you don’t get hit with the €1000 hammer in the face after one year ^.^
